The registration for NEET-UG counselling rounds is done in an online mode. To complete this process, candidates are required to have their NEET UG application number, Date of birth, name and roll number. The process is concluded with the final submission after completing the 'Choice Filling' option. Candidates who secured a place on the merit list are deemed eligible for counselling rounds. Aspirants need to make sure that they fulfill all the eligibility criteria and secure the minimum cutoff marks. The NEET counselling 2026 registration is done for MBBS and BDS courses. The reservation criteria for NEET UG 2026 exam is set by official authorities. As per the NEET UG Reservation Criteria 2026, seats are reserved for GEN-EWS, SC, OBC-NCL, ST, and PwD candidates. The percentage of seats reserved for different categories is given as follows.

Indian citizenship is a requirement for appearing in the NEET 2026 counseling process and exam. Only candidates who are Indian citizens are eligible to apply for the exam.
Possessing Indian citizenship is a mandatory requirement for both the NEET counseling process 2026 and the exam. Only candidates who are Indian citizens are eligible to apply for the NEET exam and participate in the NEET counseling.
Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) also can take the NEET and participate in the NEET counselling process. OCIs, who may hold citizenship of a foreign country but have Indian roots, such as those born in India or with Indian parents or grandparents, are eligible for NEET.
The NEET 2026 exam and NEET counselling process 2026 are open to Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) as well. NRIs, who are Indian citizens residing outside of India, can appear for NEET 2026 and engage in the NEET counseling process.

Medical aspirants from Jammu & Kashmir can participate in NEET 2026 under the 15% All India quota, including seats in AFMC Pune, through NEET counselling.
